Detail from Confirmation
Nicolas Poussin

Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
-Acts of the Apostles 2:2-4
It is evident from its celebration that the effect of the sacrament of Confirmation is the special outpouring of the Holy Spirit as once granted to the apostles on the day of Pentecost.
-Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1302

For those interested in being Confirmed there are two options. For youth, they are Confirmed after finishing a three year Confirmation formation program. There is Youth Ministry (LIFE TEEN & the Edge) for Confirmation preparation. For adults there is the RCIA (Roman Catholic Initiation of Adults).

Please speak with Brad regarding confirmation at 423-3057 or send him an .

Who can be confirmed? Any baptized young Catholic who has completed either 3 year Youth formation program (for teens), or any baptized adult who has completed the RCIA (Roman Catholic Initiation of Adults).

For Confirmation at STACM, we have a three year Confirmation program. This program is for young people in grades 7 to 12. Our goal with this move is to have young people participate more actively in the ministry, and realize this is not just about formation it is about transformation of young people's lives and way they live their lives. To know more about this program click here and download the Three year Confirmation Covent to review the standard we hold young people and their parents to.

Where can I learn more about Confirmation?
A course called Catholicism 201. This course teaches more about the sacraments and more about Catholic life in general.
