Choir Director, Canadian Martyrs

Both Saint Thomas Aquinas and Canadian Martyrs have choirs for music ministry during Mass and special occasions. We are always looking for new members!

Canadian Martyrs

The Canadian Martyrs choir ministers every Sunday at the 10:00 AM Mass at Canadian Martyrs Church. We perform diverse musical styles, ranging from Gregorian chant to contemporary Christian music. All ages and abilities are welcome in our group; all we require is enthusiasm and a committment to community service. Rehearsals are held Sundays after mass, from 11:20-12:30. New singers and instrumentalists are always welcome. Please e-mail Jamie for more information.

Saint Thomas Aquinas

There are a number of different music groups who contribute to the Music Ministry at St. Thomas Aquinas. We have a group of singers and musicans (Voices of Praise Choir) who regularly sing at the 9 am and 11 am Masses, this group rehearses on Wednesday evenings at St. Thomas Aquinas, and sings a variety of music. This year we are working on polishing and extending our musical repertoire and
welcome any new musicians (any instrument) and singers. If you wish to join us, please feel free to come to a Wednesday evening practice. We also have a Young Voices Choir (formerly known as childrens choir) at St. Thomas Aquinas who sing once a month. This choir is open to children from
the age of 6 or 7 (children who feel comfortable enough reading to follow along with the songs in rehearsals) up to about age 13. We sing a variety of upbeat music and are always looking for new members to join us. Our first Sunday singing will be October 1, 2006, and we usually rehearse at 10 am at St. Thomas Aquinas on the two Saturdays preceeding the Sundays we sing.

This year we have a couple of groups who will be coming in to provide different styles of music at one 11 am Mass per month. These groups are the CCO Music Group and the Togni Consort. Please watch this space for more information on these groups as well as a schedule of music for Sunday Masses
throughout the year. If you have any questions please contact Jamie, Music Director - Jamie.
