HOLY CROSS CEMETERY
The Holy Cross Cemetery Trust is looking for volunteers to help straighten and fix fallen and cracked stones as well as do some upkeep to the cemetery.  No experience is required.  Volunteers are needed on Saturday mornings beginning May 4th anytime after 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.  (refreshments  will be provided)  There will be a sign up sheet at the back of the church on April 27th / 28th.  Work will be every Saturday morning from May 4th until October 12th.  

 STACM PARISH EDUCATION AWARD
The St. Thomas Aquinas Canadian Martyrs Parish Education Award
was created to financially support worthy high school students as they advance to programs of study at the post-secondary level. The award recognizes student members of the parish who have excelled in service to the parish, service to the community and academic achievement at the high school level.  Application forms for our 2013 high school graduates are now available at the back of the church(s), at the parish office or on the STACM parish website.  The deadline for applications is Tuesday, April 30th, 2013.

VINCENT & EILEEN COY
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SCHOLARSHIP
The Knights of Columbus Halifax Council, 1097 invite applications from Catholic students who are planning to attend university or community college in the upcoming academic year, for the Vincent & Eileen Coy Scholarships. Application forms are available at the back of the church(s) or at the parish office. More information can be obtained by contacting Kenneth Eisan (454-6706) Brian Maloney (492-1946), or Frederick Pellerine (883-7233).  Deadline for applications is May 15th, 2013.  This is non-renewable scholarship.

SUMMER DAY CAMP
Summer day camp at Come To Me Daycare at Canadian Martyrs Church now being offered for school-aged children.  Please find a brochure at the back of the church.  Call 407-3038 for more information. 

CWL MEETING
The C.W.L. will be holding its monthly meeting on April 27.  It will start with Mass at 12:15 p.m. at St. Mary's Basilica to celebrate the feast of our         Patroness, Our Lady of Good Counsel.  It will be followed by brunch at Niche restaurant at Maritime Mall at 1 p.m.  Women of the parish are     invited to join us in our celebration and meeting.  Please contact Anita Ross at 429-7223 to RSVP or for more details.

SACRED HEART SCHOOL
Sacred Heart School of Halifax - Morning Visit for Preschool & Sr. Primary parents Robyn Erickson, Admissions Director - rerickson@shsh.ca  422-4459 Friday, May 3rd from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m.  Prospective families of preschool and senior primary students are welcome to come to meet teachers and see the classrooms.

WEEKEND OF GRACE FOR MEN

HOLY LAND PILGRIMAGE –
 IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF JESUS, MARY & JOSEPH
We are three quarters sold out for the Holy Land Pilgrimage this upcoming October.  If you have a desire to see the Holy Land, than this may be your opportunity.  Fr. Mark Cherry and Fr. Rob Arsenault CC are the Spiritual leaders on this prayerful Pilgrimage of faith.  The itinerary has been carefully arranged with full consideration to the ministry of Christ as opposed to merely a tour of the Holy sites.  This Pilgrimage experience is for duration of 12 days.  Spaces are filling up so don’t miss this amazing opportunity.  If you are interested, simply send an e-mail to bsime@privatelabeltravel.ca and Bob Sime, Trip Organizer, will be pleased to give you additional information.

 TOB - CONFIRMATION SESSION, APRIL 21st -  This Session is called "ME, MYSELF AND I" In this session we will come to understand the meaning of the language of the body – to make invisible things visible.  We will reflect on the human person as a body-soul composite and confront and discuss spiritual and emotional issues related to the body and recognize Christ as the key to understanding our humanity.
EDGE SESSION, APRIL 23rd  -  This session is called "@PRAYTOGO”  What is Prayer?  The goal of this night is to understand that we are invited into a deeper relationship with God, prayer in the foundation of our lives as Christians. This night will be hosted by Rhonda Lynn.   
  TOB CONFIRMATIN SESSION, APRIL 28th - This session is called “HOW SHOULD I ACT”.   In this session, we will look at the relationship between our actions and the formation of our character.  We will also explore the importance of participating in the sacraments.
